Data sharing is becoming a key enabler of innovation, resilience and competitiveness in European manufacturing. By aligning vocational education with real industry needs, VET4DATACOOPERATION contributes to preparing today's workforce for tomorrow's data driven economy.
The VET4DATACOOPERATION project has reached another important milestone with the launch of the development of its training programme, designed to strengthen skills and competences for trusted data sharing in manufacturing.
Rather than developing training content based on assumptions, the project partners have followed an evidence-based approach. The training modules are being designed on the basis of a targeted Needs Analysis carried out across the partner countries, involving experts, manufacturing companies and key stakeholders from the data-sharing ecosystem.
The analysis identified the most pressing knowledge gaps, skills needs and future competence requirements related to data sharing, data governance, industrial data spaces and emerging digital business models. These findings now serve as the foundation for developing practical and industry-oriented learning materials.
A training program tailored to manufacturing
The upcoming training programme will consist of five complementary modules:
- M1: Foundations of Data Sharing in Manufacturing & Gaia-X
- M2: Data Governance, Legal Frameworks and Data Usage Agreements
- M3: Technical Architecture, Secure Data Exchange and Operational Readiness
- M4: Business Models and Value Creation from Data Sharing
- M5: Organizational Readiness, Scaling and Future Growth
Together, these modules will provide learners with both strategic understanding and practical knowledge needed to participate in trusted data-sharing initiatives and industrial data spaces.
Supporting Europe's digital transformation
As manufacturing becomes increasingly data-driven, organisations need professionals who understand not only technology, but also governance, collaboration models and the business value of data sharing.
The VET4DATACOOPERATION training programme aims to equip managers, employees, SMEs, data professionals and vocational education providers with the competences required to successfully participate in collaborative data ecosystems aligned with European initiatives such as Gaia-X.
The training materials will be complemented by real-life good practices, practical examples, and innovative learning resources, ensuring that learners can directly apply the acquired knowledge in their professional environments.
